Hey and welcome to Dot events. Dot events is my all-new event service founded in 2020 during the Corona Virus pandemic (I know a great time to create an events service). While I have run by own event service for a while since the age of 12 to be precise Dot events marks a few changed to both my life and what I am up to in the events sector.
It starts back in 2019 while travelling home one day when an advert came on a well-known radio station advertising University courses in events management. After hearing that I thought, I could do that, originally thinking I could do an online degree course. Had a look online and thought nothing of it for a week or so. Following this, I looked online and spoke to a few friends and found the perfect university course for me. Luckily I happened to know a few people who lived in the same city so I booked an open day, had a look around then kept pestering the university with questions! Just before Christmas, I thought I would apply. Following that, I had booked to go to a second open day and booked some time off work, on the morning of the open day i had an email from UCAS offering me an unconditional place.
Now with less than 6 months to go, I have been getting everything in place ready to go and thought about re-branding to mark both my change in life and the change in services my events service would offer. Hence the birth of Dot Events. Much like 21a events, Dot events will provide services for many different events within the entertainment sector, such as Event Support and Event Management. 21a was founded with a focus on Technical Production, while Dot still does some Technical Production the core focus will be on the management and support for events within the entertainment sector.
I understand that this is a hard time for many people, especially in the events, hospitality and tourism sector however it is paramount that the government’s advice is followed. Please don’t have any events during the lockdown, stay at home, support the NHS and Stay Safe. We will get through this. Its important to stay healthy and positive during this time, some events could go virtual such as Pub Quizzes, DJ sets and Artists playing over live streams. I’d like to thank all the key workers and everyone involved with the war against the Covid-19 virus, especially the NHS.
Stay safe and see you on the other side.
